Marinas and boat docks line the shores of Douglas Lake. Views of the Great Smoky Mountains offer a magnificent backdrop. The lake's 30,400 acres extend 43.1 miles upstream from Douglas Dam. Rolling hills and farmland, as well as residential areas, surround the lake.

Pontoon boat rentals offer a day of relaxation and some fine fishing. Largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish are the most popular game fish. Sauger, walleye, and white bass make their late-winter spawning runs to the headwaters.
